We are a grassroots effort in Delaware County, PA, focused on delaying smartphones and social media for children and creating healthier norms around screens — in homes, schools, and communities.

We believe:

- Technology can be a powerful tool when used intentionally

- Childhood is being stolen by screen time

- Kids thrive through real-world play and face-to-face connection

- The longer we wait to give children devices, the healthier they will be

- Schools should be places to learn, not marketplaces for tech companies

- Teachers shouldn't have to be phone police

- Students deserve distraction-free classrooms

We advocate for:

- Collective action to delay smartphones and social media

- Low-tech childhoods and teen years

- Phone-free schools, bell to bell

- Schools that prioritize children’s well-being over Big Tech interests

- More free-play and independence for kids

We are also a founding chapter of PA Unplugged, a growing statewide coalition of parents working toward a cultural shift in how we approach screens and social media during childhood and adolescence.

PA Unplugged partners with national experts, nonprofit organizations, including Smartphone Free Childhood US, Distraction-Free Schools Policy Project, and Mothers Against Media Addiction (MAMA), as well as other local grassroots efforts across Pennsylvania.
